The refurbishments have improved the students’ learning conditions and the overall infrastructure of the school, providing a fresh and conducive learning environment. These upgrades include redoing the façade of the school to make it more resilient to seasonal weather conditions and more attractive in comparison to the buildings surrounding the school; improving the landscaping; renovating the chemistry lab, classrooms on the third floor and the roof of the academic block; replacing the basketball court’s flooring from hard asphalt to rubber crumbs, or synthetic rubber; adding a volleyball court and an outside gazebo for the students to play and socialise in, respectively; and installing solar-powered lights around the outside of the school.  

“We were impressed with the overall quality of the rehabilitation and appreciate the close attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence,” said a parent of a student at the school. “We look forward to witnessing the positive impact it will have not only on the staff and students at this school but also on the wider Osh community.” 

The rehabilitation not only provides a fresh and conducive learning environment for the students and staff, but it also ensures the school building is in line with safety regulations and is equipped with the latest technology.  

“There are well-equipped sports grounds in the schoolyard, where students can exercise in the fresh air,” said a parent of a student at the school. “Our son likes the dining room and restrooms, which are always clean. He enjoys attending school.”  

Lastly, solar panels are planned to be installed at the beginning of 2024 for the school’s lighting and water heating, in addition to other eco-friendly initiatives, to meet the school’s commitment to become net zero carbon by 2030.
